Union Awards X Summer Ball 2024
Welcome to the biggest celebration of the year!
Hosted at our Glasshouse venue in Farnham, the Union Awards X Summer Ball is our second all-campus event of the year and a chance to celebrate student and staff achievements, then party afterwards.
The night will be split into two parts:
5pm-8:30pm - Union Awards where you can expect a beautiful awards ceremony with performances from various clubs and societies. Doors open at 5pm. If you wish to book a table please email events.su@uca.ac.uk
9pm-2am - Summer Ball - Please see the full list below.

Early Bird Tickets
You will be able to buy your discounted Summer Ball and combined Awards X Summer Ball tickets until 1st May at 12PMl!
Canterbury-based students will only be able to purchase the combined ticket as this includes your coach travel. If you can make your own way there and back, go with the individual ticket if you only want to attend the Awards OR Summer Ball.
Epsom-based students - you have two ticket options available for purchase. Both options include coach travel:
Option 1 - Combined ticket for the Union Awards X Summer Ball.
Option 2 - Summer Ball ticket only.
Farnham-based students can purchase any iteration of ticket (Awards only, Summer Ball only OR combined Awards and Summer Ball).
What are the ticket options?
Awards only Ticket (UCA students and staff) - £5:
Entrance to the Union Awards taking place between 5-8.30pm
Performances from clubs and societies.
And… maybe you’ll be taking home a trophy?
Early Bird Summer Ball only Ticket - £16:
Entrance to the biggest party of the year from 9pm-2am with 6 areas of activity!
Coach travel from Canterbury and Epsom campuses.
Silent Disco - featuring 3 Channels playing a wide variety of genres including.
Food - The Three Little Pigs returns with delicious and affordable food options. They will be offering vegan, halal, gluten-free and nut-free food options.

Guests are welcome to attend Union Awards X Summer Ball. To ensure as many UCA students attend as possible, we have limited guest tickets to a maximum of 50.

Please refer to our Glasshouse Guest Policy if you wish to bring a non-UCA attendee. This policy will remain in place for Union Awards X Summer Ball.
From 1st May, any remaining tickets will be sold at the standard rate.

Guest tickets can only be bought alongside a student ticket. Please refer to the guest policy for conditions.
Tickets are nonrefundable.
Tickets are non-transferable unless this is done via the Native platform. You're able to transfer tickets until the deadline on Friday 17th May 2024 at midday (12pm). If tickets are found to be sold outside of the Native platform and at an increased price, disciplinary action may be taken.
Pre-sale ticket entry is only guaranteed until 11pm. After 11pm, the remaining tickets will be sold to queueing attendees.
Last entry, without a pre-sold ticket, to the Summer Ball is midnight (12am).
*This is a UCASU fundraiser. The profits from this event go towards providing opportunities and support for UCA students. Event content is subject to change.
If you have any accessibility requirements, such as wheelchair accessible coach seats or a carer ticket, please email events.su@uca.ac.uk and a member of the team will be in touch with you.
If you'd like to book a table for the Union Awards, please contact events.su@uca.ac.uk. Tables can be booked for up to nine people, and one person will have to submit a booking per table. Half-tables of four seats will also be available to book. All tickets guarantee a seat.
Entry Requirements

Any UCA student who does not have student ID must follow the guest signing in procedure, they will be treated as a guest
The last entry for every event is 90 minutes before the event finishes.
Upon entry, you will not be allowed to return if you decide to leave the venue or are ejected.
We have the right to refuse entry to any person and do not have to provide a reason.
Ticket Sales
The primary source of ticket sales will be via our online ticketing platform at: ucasu.com/activities/glasshouse
Where capacity permits, tickets will be available at the door.
When the venue reaches the capacity for the event, the door policy becomes ‘one out,’ ‘one in.’
Tickets to events are non-refundable.
You must utilize the swap ticket function within Native if you cannot make an event. This does not guarantee that your ticket will be swapped.
There may be booking fees on some tickets. This will be clearly defined.
Guest Entry
Guest tickets can only be purchased by a current UCA student, at our online ticketing platform. There are no on the door tickets for guests.
If you have purchased or are purchasing tickets for a guest, they also need valid physical proof of age (photographic ID), and you will need to provide their full name at the point of check-out when purchasing an online ticket, you are then responsible for them and their behaviour on the night. Please refer to our guest policy for the full policy.
Searches
To attend an event and enter the venue, you consent to your bags and/or personal belongings being searched by security staff. If you object to a search, we will reserve the right to refuse entry to the venue.
There may be occasions if so, deemed necessary, for security staff to conduct pat-downs on all students and guests. By entering the venue, you consent to a pat-down by security staff. If you object to this, we reserve the right to refuse entry to the venue.
Exclusion from Glasshouse
You will be ejected and subjected to banning orders and/or disciplinary procedures for:
Bringing alcohol or illegal drugs into the venue
Vaping or smoking in the Venue
Drunkenness or under the influence of drugs
Gaining or attempting to gain entry to the venue without a ticket or wristband
Tampering with security barriers
Causing damage or defacement to the venue
Tampering with fire exits unless prompted by alarm or security staff
Being rude or abusive toward staff or other event attendees
Behaviour including and not limited to acting in a manner deemed unsociable, undesirable, or aggressive
This is not an exhaustive list, and we reserve the right to remove attendees for behaviours not listed above.
Right to Refuse Bar Service
We have the right to refuse bar service and do not need to provide a reason for refusal.
Glasshouse Venue:
Official Photography: If you enter Glasshouse, you may be photographed or recorded. If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded, please speak to the venue manager.
CCTV: CCTV is in operation in Glasshouse for everyone’s safety. The university controls this.
Please be mindful of residents by keeping noise levels to a minimum when leaving Glasshouse.
Strobe lighting & smoke/fog machine: During events, we might use strobe lighting and smoke and/or fog machine. Please check with the Bar Manager if this presents any concerns.
Signing-in Process
Guest tickets can only be purchased via our online ticketing platform at: ucasu.com/activities/glasshouse and must be bought before 6pm on the night of the event.
Guest tickets can only be purchased by a current UCA student, at our online ticketing platform. There are no on the door tickets for guests

When purchasing a guest ticket via our online site, guest details must be provided during checkout where prompted.
On the night of the event, your guest must be with you when you come to the Box Office. You must bring your Student ID, otherwise you and your guest will be denied entry.
Any UCA student who does not have student ID must follow the guest signing in procedure, they will be treated as a guest

Guest Ticket Prices
Guests will be charged an additional £1 on top of the price for a ticket on a regular Glasshouse night.
Guests will be charged an additional £2 for specialist nights/major events including Halloween and Summer Balls.
There may be booking fees on some tickets. This will be clearly defined.
Responsibility for your Guest
If you have signed-in a guest to any Glasshouse event, you are responsible for them. This means that any guest infringement of the Venue Policy, Student Code of Conduct or any other UCA/UCASU-related policy could result in ejection from Glasshouse and further disciplinary procedures.
